A very very Unofficial Monthly Update... Sort of.
This is about the progress on the new starting area, from concept art to screenshots, and I re-post it here for anyone that missed it (and apologize if it has already been posted elsewhere), because I just thought the video was awesome!
The only disappointing fact in this video was, that no one was drunk as a skunk, but the stuff in the video imho are pretty cool!

Please tell me that you still have a choice over what faction to go with as you progress through the newbie experience, and it isn't just another box to click tacked on the end of character creation...

Tip #743: As noted in Tip #244, tea bags have an infinite variety of uses. However, there's always one jerk who will want to give you crap over drinking tea. actually some of the picture are with the new engine, i see normal mapping here, normal mapping is only possible with 2+ PS .But it's not new engine shots

Maybe, but not something I'd pay to play anymore. I enjoy the "old school" look and feel of AO it's cozy and the current ratios of size/dimension are awesome the look in that screenshot is like some over hyped xbox360 pile of poo. GUUUUUUUUUUUUUILD WARS IN SPACE! (Pigs in space... yo).I'd say it is exactly the look and feel AO was meant to have
*Edit, didn't we both agree over a year ago when the first screen shots came out of a toon in a forested area I said they were gunna ruin the aspect ratios and sizing and make things feel to cramped and terrible (GLOBAL AGENDA).

Why is stuff like this being showcased at very "exclusive" events like AOCon and the FC HQ visit last summer when the game is hemorrhaging subscribers? And the average player doesn't even get their monthly update?

Another important part of the 'feel' of AO is the audio. I think it definitely needs love, but if they overhaul all the audio files, I'm gonna shoot someone.

dont really get what gaveup is saying about ratio/size changes, doesn't look noticeably different to a lot of AO now.
That particular indoor action shot is part of the character creation process where you select your profession. Personally I like it and there is more to the scene that the static picture does not convey. I am looking forward to when it is polished and released.
