AriensGUI - Scripts to help you on Rubi-Ka

It is not what you normally would call a GUI, but rather a panel with scripts.

on the other hand it is a GUI, as I have taken a lot of chat commands and gathered them up in one convenient place with buttons and explanation.

The screenshots are not of the most recent version, the added features can be seen in the code-window above.
Indicators for general nanos have also been added, it takes quite some work to get the screenshots nice, so I do not update them with every new version.

window means that you can send a link to the chat, that helps on that issue.
Eg. the inspect window will let people enable/disable the feature with a press of a button in the window the link creates.

Who buffs what? With Icons
I have had my own list, as I found the recipebot one lacking in areas.

There are two ways to use the list:
By profession (useful to see if you have the buffing nanoes yourself) or
Look it up by skill and see which professions buff that skill, and if they stack.
To the right of each nano you can see the NCU cost, LVL requirement, if Agents can mimic it and the profession that can cast the nano.
If you click the profession name (eg. Trader) you will look for all traders that are near you. (using /list to search the playfield you are in)

As the name says, there are two versions: one without, and one with icons.
For the buffer, especially if agent, it can be an aid to see the icon. As well for those not familiar with the name, but have seen it in there NCU.
The list without icons is a lot more compact though.
Some numbers:
There are 201 listed nanoes
Agents can mimic 153 of them

The intended audience is everyone, but mostly those unexperienced in AO and all of it's old chat commands. Old users will most likely learn a new trick or two also though.
All in all it is a time-saver for those knowing where the options are, and a great tool aiding those who do not know the chat commands in gaining the utility of them.

PS. when I write "Talk like a girl, atrox or man" I mean it; AO lets you use the voice files of the other breeds and genders. Male/Female Sayings is a collection of the best voice files, from the various breeds.

Quick "How to use it":

1. Download this file. By right-clicking the link on the page, choosing "save as" or "Save link as" if you use FireFox
2. Put it in the Anarchy Online folder.
3. Unpack the zip file. - When placed in the Anarchy Online folder, unpacking it will put the scripts in there right place
4. Ingame type: /APanel
5. To make a button for your hotbar, that activates this window:
6. Ingame type: /macro ArienGUI_panel /APanel

I've been thinking about making something like this for personal use but I was too lazy to actually do it. Now someone else did all the work for me...
I haven't yet actually looked into it, but I think it should be quite useful, thanks!

Thank you for the feedback, if any of you have a custom GUI, and this looks very strange, please say so, including the name of the GUI you use.

1st solution will be to have a panel with no graphics, next will be to look at the parts of the custom GUI dislikes.

Also I have been in doubt what order the commands/links should be in.
I have tried to put those mostly used and needed in a hurry in the top, and those you seldom use or have time for in the bottom (sorry Roleplayers).
Feedback on the ordering is welcomed as well.

Names on/off is under screenshots
(under the image of a Energy Accumulator I have always thought it looked like a camera, when hunting Pond Dryads)

Improving framerate..
It is adjusting the same parameters as in the "Prepare screenshot Enhance graphics settings".
My issue has been: to what?
this page has some suggestions, but I do not know how they work out in practice. the script on that page is formated rather randomly; I have followed the order of the Options panel, if you look into my script. But ofcause I could turn the same things on/off.

I have looked at other's Anti-Lag scripts, and I have some points where I disagree:
for PVP nano effects and buffs are turned off.
Information will aid in killing, so in my script nano effects, buffs and shadows are on in PVP mode.

I have made the DeLag scripts to be effective, it will not be amazingly pretty playing with them, but it will run more smoothly.

DeLagNormal.. well what is normal?
In that script it is all effects on.. but with the same view distance as the DeLag scripts.
Sure you can set them to max, as in the Screenshot mode, but for normal play you will have no need to see that long, plus AO only can handle 6? light sources at a time, so the longer you see, the more randomly the lighting in the area just around you will be.

I need feedback on those settings, as i do not raid myself.


●Rubi-Ka facts and history
Some facts found various places, if you want sources I can get them for you, the information is 100% canon.
I have tried to be objective in the Omni/Clan section, giving the official descriptions of Omni-Tek and the Council of Truth ones for Clan.


On the layout:
I have kept it to the font-colors to those used in item description, that way the panel should be as clear to read as items, no need to re-adjust your screen.

Bugs:
I have gotten 1 report, from a Dovve GUI user that crashed receiving a friendship invite.
I have not been able to replicate that bug with 3 other Dovve users I have gotten hold of.

Next version will include Expertise nanoes and there names, for easy reference.

I would like to know what tools you are referring to, as most of the panel just is links to existing commands.
Also a long term goal is to put some of the features into a real GUI. Then it would be nice to know which features you find most useful.

Being agent I use the nano buff list most, after that the befriend feature and the assist macro.
I have found the Rubi-Ka history handy a couple of times also.

Version 1.1.3 is out by the way, with the general nanoes added.

Version 1.1.4 is on the way, only some minor optimization and error corrections.

Well many moons ago i designed a gui called foxygui which has buttons on screens to scripts like apanel, but since we have hotbars now i just found it easier to use them but prob with hotbars there not enough room for full names, but found with apanel quick access to what i used to do from hotbars or /macros or /scripts


I use scripts for the Lag control
for raids found them good to use on your apanel

Also the nano buffing info is really handy with the Ncu cost and level req, saves alot of time using apanel


would be cool if you could ass a user section at bottom maybe so people can write link to there scripts or commands like joining bots i can prob edit it myself and do this but be good addon.

i love the dance scripts too.

First, I would like to say that this is a very nice effort. I can see myself using this a lot.

But you might want to warn new players to not click "clear the screen" before reading the "tips on how to restore chat windows". I found myself clicking the "clear the screen" link, knowing full well what it did but I totally forgot how restore the windows for a minute. Needless to say I figured it out but that would totally freak out a new player.

Your choice though...just fyi. Thanks for the effort!

My first fake item.

It is a really good template, the colours are 100% the same as those used in AO, so by editing you can quickly make your own fake item.

Several people already have done that
After all that was how I learned it too, so allong with it being a good template, you deserved the credit.

You also made a Mark 2 when you left the org, but NLF shall not be forgotten, till all are free.
From the time when ARKs were canon and part of the storyline.

PS. for those of you not knowing NLF
Nanomage Liberation Front.
A neutral atlantean org consisting only of nanomages and Atrox (Omni-Tek's oppressed breeds)

They wanted to stop the exploitation of Notum, so they attacked notum towers..
ANY notum towers, no matter side, and they did not plan new ones themselves.

Further more they declared war on ARK, as ARKs (mis-)use great amounts of notum. When the ARKs have there ceremony on Sundays, they broadcast a message saying:

[System] Attention citizens. The Advisors of Rubi-Ka are nano enhancing some members of their organization. You may feel fluctuations in Notum field surrounding you as a great amount of Notum is needed in the bonding process.

and later:

[System] Citizens of Rubi-Ka, the notum field is now returning to normal as the Advisors of Rubi-Ka have completed their ceremony for this week.

Which apart from using a lot of notum also gives nanomages a headache while it lasts, as notutum is part of there bodies.

No matter if you liked or disliked NLF, everyone on the Atlantean server knew them, they even have a robe: Golden Mystery Cloak of the Nanomage Liberation Front
A good roleplaying org indeed.

New version out: 1.1.5
Comes in both an AOU mod version and standalone.
To check if you have the newest version, click HELP in the top left corner.
Then you should be presented with a "Check for updates"-button

• A couple of nanoes has been aded: Adventurer run morph, Prodigious Strength added under Stamina, to show it cancels some Stamina nanoes.

• Fixed a couple of bugs: The enforcer page should no longer be all blue.

• The DeLag scripts have been updated, some settings that required a restart before, now changes instantly.

• The "Clear Screen" gotten a 1 minute timer, so it will return, a description on how to save yourself from the clear screen after logout or crash has been added too.

Apart from that it is mostly structural:
• Instead of the update checker being spread over multiple files, they are now in the main panel.

• The path is no longer (Anarchy Online\Scripts\AriensGUI) , but (Anarchy Online\Scripts\AOU_mod\AriensGUI).
You are welcomed to delete the old folder, it will not be used.
Doing it this way, you can have both the Standalone and AOU version installed, without conflicts and with a minimum (16kb) waste of diskspace.

• The colours used will be changed, if you edit the TextColors.xml file. (Anarchy Online\cd_image\gui\Default\)
Meaning this pannel can fit any GUI skin out there.
(Costum GUI makers: have a try at it, editing TextColors.xml as part of changing the AO experience, AriensGUI panel is now compatible)

Below you can see the colour names used, and there defaults.

PS. The difference between the AOU mod version and the standalone one, is that the features incorporated in the AOU mod, has been removed from the AriensGUI panel.

Two weeks ago I re-structured the webpage, so I now can see number of downloads.

First week of the new version gave 37 download, this week 43 a total of 80.

5 people have used the "check for new version" to get there update. (1 AOU mod user)
5 people have clicked "check for new version" while having the latest one.

I made the "check for update" feature, as I got tired of having to remember the version numbers of the custom maps I have and manually look if there were new, based on that number.

Two weeks isn't much.. I would not press "check for updates" that often, so hopefully with time and new updates it will get a larger percentage.

But that means there have been 75 downloads from the main page.
75 new users. I find that quite impressive in two weeks.
Even more impressive how little feedback I get
The "Feedback" and "Spread the word about this tool -Send a link to chat." are just besides each other, yet the later apparently is much more used.

Another feature I am glad I put in: making it easy for people to recommend it to others, with a short explanation and a direct link.

I am also glad that I have not gotten a lot of spam by making feedback that easy, but rather have gotten a few nice comments and people eager to learn how to do popups.
