I didn't see a lot of cover in the Notum video, we could use some engineer built walls.
They could provide some cover and make the battles last longer.
This is something a combat engineer would do.

Nice idea, but I've not seen any placeables in game that block line-of-sight, line-of-fire etc... maybe the current engine doesn't support this?

It's a 2d game but the concept is the same.
It's just a small metal or concrete block to hide behind. .
Forces enemy to move around. If enemy can deploy
it could help them gain a foothold.
You could also make them destroyable.
